Born and raised in St. Phillip, IN, fishing and hunting has always been a part of Capt. Ben Goebel’s life. As a child, he spent many summers down at his grandparent’s camp on the Ohio River. In 2002, Ben’s good friend- Bill Droll – introduced him to cat-fishing with a rod and reel. That’s when he began to hone in on his passion for cat-fishing. Over the last 15 years Capt. Ben has caught catfish all over the Midwest, competing for local and regional tournaments and winning several championships. Four years ago, Ben decided to get his Captain’s license, so he started Rivercity Catfishing Guide service on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. Ben’s favorite technique is walking baits with the B’n’M Poles ProStaff bumping rod. Drift fishing is another preferred method for him to put fish in the boat.
