Bass Techniques to Be Successful
An Ohio native, Daniel Sepeck developed his love of fishing at a young age. He lives in Norwood with his wife and three children, but grew up in Bethel. When asked how he first got into fishing – he said his dad Dennis would take him whenever he could, and Daniel was “hooked”! He began fishing in tourneys at the age of 12 and became the first ever champion of the Murray State Open at age 16!
One reason Daniel took to fishing was because of his siblings. His brother, sister and step-brother were all very good at sports and other interests – that wasn’t Daniel. So he decided to pursue what he was best at: fishing. “I had to be me – I wasn’t into other activities. I liked the serenity of fishing and working to be the best fisherman I could be,” he said. He planned a course for his life that included an early stint working as Advertising Sales Manager for a radio network. There he learned the best way to market and promote himself in the fishing world. But after awhile, he decided to take on fishing full time and formed his own business -Daniel’s Guide Service. He offers 6 hr. trips on 3 of the local lakes to folks who just want to fish, get some instruction and enjoy the outdoors.
Daniel fishes bass, catfish, crappie, blue gill – and just about anything else that swims! His journey in tournaments includes MLF Toyota Series, FLW Series, Bass Opens Competitor, Salmoides Team Trail and Aba Team Trail. He has competed in 32 events in the FLW where he has four top 10’s and two top 5’s – one of which was a win. He was 2020’s USA Bassin Champion and 2020 Angler of the Year.
